The MEGUMI pendant is a tribute to the beauty of chance encounters. While wandering through the backstreets of Tokyo, designer Thomas Ibsen found himself lost. A young woman named Megumi offered to help, and what began as a simple act of kindness turned into a lasting friendship. Inspired by this moment, the MEGUMI collection is dedicated to her—and to all those who embody openness and generosity. Rooted in Japanese aesthetics, MEGUMI reinterprets the elegance of traditional paper lanterns in a modern, refined form. The mouth-blown matte opal glass shades, stacked in a delicate interplay of curves and transparency, create a soft, ambient glow that diffuses light beautifully. The pendant is topped with a slender metal tube, available in brass or black powder-coated steel, adding a subtle contrast while seamlessly connecting the shade to the cord.
